The TePee is located on US Route 20 (a.k.a. The Cherry Valley Turnpike, and first divided highway in the US), 3 miles east of the historic village of Cherry Valley, NY.  The current proprietors of The Tepee are Dee and Margaret Latella, who are dedicated to keeping The TePee alive as one of the premiere roadside landmarks in New York State.  The TePee is 50 feet high (four stories inside) and 42 feet wide.   Built it 1950, the original TePee was located on old Route 20 and was torn down and rebuilt on a larger scale when the current Route 20 was constructed.

The photos below are courtesy of Dee and Margaret Latella.  The first photo is an aerial view of the original TePee on old Route 20.  The second photo shows Ken and Iris Gurney (the original owners) and an unidentified person in front to The TePee at its current location.  Can you see the horse in the driveway in the aerial photo?  According to Dee Latella, the horse was a real stuffed horse which visiting children loved to climb on and have their pictures taken.  After the horse "died", it was buried at the current TePee site.
